Critical thinking and transformative action

From Tuesday, August 25th to Friday, September 4th , the Latin American Council of Social Sciences participates in various activities, both at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and at the University of Guadalajara.

CLACSO in FILUNI
The " VIII FILUNI - University Book Fair " is held at UNAM from August 25 to 30 with a large presence of CLACSO for the fifth consecutive year.
CLACSO is participating in the International Colloquium on University Publishing and the Meeting of University Presidents , and is showcasing its latest publications at booths 7 and 8 , with special coverage on CLACSO TV . There will also be numerous activities organized by CLACSO member centers in Mexico.
Free admission, from 10 a.m. to 19 p.m. Mexico time, at the CEC Headquarters (Av. del Imán 10, Coyoacán, CDMX).

International Forum "Climate and Care"
The International Forum " Climate and Care " is taking place at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) from August 31 to September 2 , promoted by CLACSO , UNAM and the " Climate and Care Initiative " (ICC) coordinated by the Avina Foundation . It addresses the intersection between the climate crisis and the care crisis from a feminist, territorial and rights-based approach.
As a closing event, on September 2nd, the " Climate and Care Meeting: Experiences from the Global South " will take place (9:30 a.m. to 18:00 p.m., CISAN-CEIICH Auditorium, Coyoacán), featuring an international panel, workshops, and a plurilateral dialogue. This activity is organized by CLACSO , " Trenzando Cuidados " (Weaving Care), and the " Global Care Alliance ," with support from the International Development Research Centre of Canada (IDRC) and UNAM. The " Climate and Care Initiative " (ICC), coordinated by the Avina Foundation , is also participating.

VI International Postgraduate School:
Beyond the International Decade for People of African Descent
From August 31 to September 4 , the VI International Postgraduate School “Beyond the International Decade for People of African Descent” is held in Mexico City , organized by CLACSO , the CLACSO Working Group “Afro-descendants and counter-hegemonic proposals” and the University Program of Studies of Cultural Diversity and Interculturality of the UNAM (PUIC-UNAM), 25 years after the Durban Declaration.
The School proposes a space for training and reflection on the realities, struggles and proposals of Afro-descendant peoples in Latin America and the Caribbean, focusing on historical reparation and anti-racist, Afro-diasporic and counter-hegemonic perspectives.

IV Mexican Conference on Critical Thinking in Health and Health Sovereignty
The IV Mexican Conference on Critical Thinking in Health and Health Sovereignty takes place from August 24 to 28 at the University of Guadalajara (UdeG – Jalisco).
Organized by the CLACSO Working Group “International Health and Health Sovereignty” and the UdeG , they bring together academia, government and social movements, and include the 1st Mexican School of Critical Thinking in Health.
