The event will mark the establishment of the CLACSO Working Group on Social Studies for Health (GTESS), creating a space for dialogue and exchange on the contemporary challenges facing the sector in Latin America. On this occasion, Pablo Vommaro, Executive Director of CLACSO, will welcome the GTESS and share his reflections on the importance of health for democracy in the region. Following this, Professor Cristiani Machado, from ENSP/Fiocruz, will present on the topic of “Health Systems in Latin America: Challenges and Perspectives,” offering insights into the main challenges, trends, and opportunities for strengthening health systems in the region.
