The Department of Comparative Politics of the University of Bergen, in conjunction with the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), organizes the international symposium “The Shifting Global Order and the Transformation of Refugee and Migration Regimes”, a space for analysis on contemporary challenges in migration and refuge in the context of the transformations of the global order.
The meeting brings together international specialists in migration studies with the aim of examining how geopolitical, economic and regulatory changes are reshaping migration governance and refugee protection regimes, as well as their implications for public policies and theoretical debates in the field.
Among the participants, the following stand out: Hakan Sicakkan, Ann Cathrin Corrales-Øverlid, Pierre Van Wolleghem, Kari Hagatun y Simone Grassiniwho will address different dimensions of migration processes in the contemporary international scenario.
The symposium is supported by various academic and international institutions, and is part of research initiatives aimed at understanding the impacts of global changes on human mobility dynamics.
