The Study Group on Contemporary Theatre, Politics and Society in Latin America (IIGG-UBA) invites you to the open activity "Theatre-mapping-documents", this Wednesday, April 22 at 10 a.m. | Hybrid format. This is a meeting to reflect on documentary theatre and new forms of research in the performing arts, with the participation of Natalia Burgueño Pereyra (FArtes-FHCE, UDELAR) and Juliette Bristault Canova (La Rochelle Université / UBA), and moderated by Denise Cobello and Ramiro Manduca. Natalia Burgueño Pereyra (FArtes-FHCE, UDELAR) will present her research, “Devices of the Real in the Contemporary Stage: Reactivation of Dictatorial Memories in Lola Arias’s My Life After (2009) and The Year I Was Born (2012),” which analyzes the procedures of documentary theater in the construction of memories in the Southern Cone, placing the Argentine and Chilean scenes in dialogue. Juliette Bristault Canova (La Rochelle University / UBA) will share “Buenos Aires Through Its Theaters: Interactive Mapping of the Independent Theater Scene (1930–2025),” with the progress of a project that articulates performing arts and digital humanities through mapping tools.
