Urgent challenges in the face of the global crisis
The world of work is undergoing profound transformations. Digitalization, platforms, and artificial intelligence coexist with long-standing phenomena such as informality, outsourcing, inequalities, and the heterogeneity of forms of labor market integration.
These transformations challenge not only the ways of producing and working, but also the institutions historically built around employment: labor rights, social protection, regulation, and forms of collective representation and organization.
The discussion panel “ Urgent Challenges in the Face of the Global Crisis ” brought together union, political-institutional, and academic perspectives to reflect on these changes and discuss what responses we need to develop in the face of an increasingly heterogeneous world of work. The objective was to move from diagnosis to a political question: what new agenda of rights, protection, and collective organization does contemporary work require?
They stated:
Juan Ottaviano (IDAES-UNSAM, Argentina)
Marcelo Di Stefano (Secretary of Institutional Strengthening, Trade Union Confederation of Workers of the Americas, CSA, Guatemala)
Jeanette Jara (University of Santiago, Chile)
Marga Ferre (Transform! Europe, Spain)
