 Strengthen regional presence

CLACSO with governments of Latin America and the Caribbean

On Friday, September 1, in Oslo, CLACSO held a working meeting with ambassadors from Latin America and the Caribbean in Norway with the aim of strengthening the regional presence, promoting social dialogues and finding new ways for academic cooperation.

Representing the Latin American Council of Social Sciences were Karina Batthyány, Executive Director, and Pablo Vommaro, Director of Research.

The diplomatic corps was represented by Betina Pasquali de Fonseca (Argentina), Enio Cordeiro (Brazil), Luis Plaza Gentina (Chile), Gustavo Laurie Escandón, accompanied by his chargé d'affaires Julio Ubillús (Peru), and Ramón Gordils (Venezuela).


Karina Batthyány and Pablo Vommaro are in Oslo to participate in the conference “Winds of Change and Currents of Solidarity: Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe in the 21st Century,” on September 4 and 5 at the University of Bergen. They will also hold several meetings with international organizations and deepen exchanges aimed at strengthening the presence of the social sciences across the five continents.
