 Studies on the United States

El CLACSO Working Group on Studies on the United States It was created in 2004. In 15 years it has developed multiple activities that include the publication of 5 books (and three more in association with different academic bodies), and has organized 32 meetings in 12 countries

(at the CLACSO Assemblies and the ALAS congresses, among others). Today it is made up of 35 academics from 12 countries.

The group's research on the United States stemmed from a hypothesis that was increasingly accepted in academic and political circles: the United States had entered a historical phase that could be described as a crisis of hegemony. Three dimensions of analysis were developed: the United States internally, the United States and the world, and the United States and Latin America and the Caribbean.
