Open call for dossier "Frames and Networks" No. 9

The call for proposals for the CLACSO scientific journal Tramas y Redes Nº 9 is now open. The theme is "Critical perspectives on care, gender equality and social justice," and it will be coordinated by Karina Batthyány (University of the Republic, Uruguay) and Amparo Hernández (Pontifical Javeriana University, Colombia).
Submission deadline: October 1, 2025
In Latin America and the Caribbean, the recognition of care as a human right has gained momentum in recent years, driven by feminist movements, international organizations, academia, and a growing awareness of its central role in sustaining life and promoting gender equality. Several countries in the region have begun developing regulatory frameworks and public policies geared toward comprehensive care systems. However, the institutionalization of these tasks has not followed a linear path.
This dossier seeks to provide input for the theoretical discussion of care in the region and on its construction as an object of public policy, placing at the center the contributions of feminist academia in dialogue with government and civil society actors.
Axes:
•The recognition of care as a human right
•Theoretical and political debates on care as work
•Care policies in Latin America and the Caribbean: current situation
•Who provides care and who requires care?
•Care from a feminist perspective: tensions, recognitions and transformations
•Emerging dimensions in care studies

Submissions must adhere to the journal's focus and publication guidelines. The dossier's editorial line prioritizes a perspective on the Latin America and Caribbean region. The dossier will be published in issue number 9 of the journal, in December 2025.
