 Plots and Networks No. 8

Issue No. 8 is now available Plots and NetworksThe semi-annual open-access digital journal published by CLACSO. In anticipation of the X CLACSO Conference “Horizons and Transformations for Equality”, held from June 9 to 12 in Bogotá, this issue addresses inequalities as a cross-cutting theme that runs through the societies of Latin America and the Caribbean, with a special focus on the dramatic increase in the population living in poverty and the human rights violations that this entails.

This edition comprises a thematic dossier on poverty and inequality in the context of Latin American socioeconomic policies in the 21st century, coordinated by Iliana Yaschine and Paula Boniolo; an interview by Verónica Béliveau with the Argentine sociologist Fortunato Mallimaci; and seven articles submitted through an open call. Additionally, the Archive section is dedicated to the recovery and analysis of documents from Casa de las Américas, a fundamental space for the expansion and consolidation of a Latin American and Caribbean cultural identity.
