Open Chair on Good Living

 Open Chair on Good Living

The experience accumulated by the Communities in resistance, the movements, networks and social organizations against the abuses of the colonial and patriarchal world It allows us to affirm the need for a de/post/anti/alter colonial education to challenge the matrix that commodifies the different spheres of life: land, bodies, subjectivities, systems of production and materialization in work.

La Open Chair on Good Living Thus, it emerges from the search for a confluence of diverse experiences, socio-territorial practices, and transdisciplinary intercultural models, through dialogue among the knowledge and practices of the Global South, with the aim of transcending the limitations of formal academic knowledge. Its educational processes therefore encompass territorial and community projects, with concrete proposals designed to address the material, legal, symbolic, spiritual, and eco-cultural needs that exist in the world.

This perspective, which has been called today epistemological territories of the South, is especially focused on the epistemic disobedience exercised by peoples from a critique of Eurocentrism, capitalism, epistemic and patriarchal racism.

The proposal we present here arises from the dialogue between these experiences and the initiative Open Chairs of Social Movements CLACSO's efforts to renew and expand its commitment to the democratization of knowledge.

Organized by: University of Good Living (UBV) / Popular University of Social Movements (UPMS) / Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) / University of the African Diaspora.
