Training on Gender, Feminisms and Diversities at CLACSO

As part of “Women’s Month”, on Wednesday, March 4, CLACSO is organizing a Training Day on “Gender, Feminisms and Diversities” for workers of the Executive Secretariat in Buenos Aires.

On this occasion, the following will speak: Karina Batthyány, Executive Secretary of CLACSO; Dora Barrancos, Presidential Advisor, researcher, sociologist, historian and Argentine feminist; Estela Díaz, Minister of Women, Gender Policies and Sexual Diversity of the Province of Buenos Aires; Cecilia Merchan, Secretary of equality and diversity policies; Mariana Carbajal, journalist and feminist activist; and representatives of the CLACSO Working Groups on Feminism.

The training at CLACSO is being provided within the framework of the so-called "Micaela Law," passed by the Argentine Parliament following the 2017 femicide in Gualeguay, Entre Ríos province, of 21-year-old Micaela García, an active member of the #NiUnaMenos movement against gender violence and for women's rights. The law mandates training on gender issues and violence against women for all public employees in Argentina.
