The seminar unfolds over four consecutive sessions, each lasting three academic hours. In this first session, participants explore the definition and characteristics of Latin American critical thought, analyzing the key currents and debates that structure the discipline. The activity delves into initial reflections on the conquest and colonization, focusing on the figure of Bartolomé de las Casas and the various manifestations of anticolonial resistance. Through the study of emancipatory thought, students identify the roots of social critique in the region, processing this content to generate theoretical contributions that enrich and strengthen their own research. This seminar is led by Dr. Alba Carosio and will take place on March 6, 13, 20, and 27.
