Latin American Critical Thought 19th Century: the will to reveal the American being

The seminar unfolds over four consecutive sessions, each lasting three academic hours. In this first session, participants explore the definition and characteristics of Latin American critical thought, analyzing the key currents and debates that structure the discipline. The activity delves into initial reflections on the conquest and colonization, focusing on the figure of Bartolomé de las Casas and the various manifestations of anticolonial resistance.
Through the study of emancipatory thought, the student identifies the roots of social criticism in the region, processing these contents to generate theoretical contributions that enrich and solidify their own research work.
