Celarg Inaugurates Fidel Castro Chair on March 3rd. The Rómulo Gallegos Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (Celarg), in coordination with the Cuban Embassy, invites the public to the inauguration of the Fidel Castro Chair for Geopolitical Thought on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 10:00 am at its facilities in Altamira, Caracas. This event is an integral part of the program commemorating the centennial of the Cuban leader, under the theme “100 Years with Fidel,” and of Celarg’s work agenda entitled “Cuba is Humanity,” which includes a tribute to Cuban books and literature. The inaugural session will be a forum led by Professor and Researcher Judith Valencia, who will offer her perspectives on Latin American and Caribbean geopolitical thought. The event will be held in a hybrid format, with participation via Zoom and live streaming on Celarg’s YouTube channel (@celargcentrodeestudios). #FidelCastroChair #Venezuela #100YearsWithFidel
