III Research Conference on Communication and Culture "Héctor Schmucler"

September 10 September 11 CMT

The III International Conference on Research in Communication, Culture and Technologies Héctor Schmucler aims to consolidate a space for exchange, reflection and collective production of knowledge that strengthens communication research from a critical, interdisciplinary and Latin American perspective.
In a context characterized by profound technological, cultural, political, and environmental transformations, the field of communication faces new theoretical, methodological, and ethical challenges. The expansion of digital platforms, artificial intelligence, the reconfiguration of the media ecosystem, the emergence of new forms of political participation, social, territorial, and gender inequalities, as well as disputes over the right to communication, demand renewed research agendas capable of understanding the complexity of contemporary processes.
These conferences revive the intellectual legacy of Héctor Schmucler as a permanent invitation to consider communication as a field of critical knowledge production, committed to culture, memory, and social transformation. At the same time, they provide a space to showcase the diversity of research conducted in universities, research centers, and social organizations, promoting the
dialogue between different disciplinary traditions and epistemological perspectives.
In this third edition, the Conference advances in its internationalization process through the participation of researchers from different countries, the consolidation of regional academic networks and the opening of exchange spaces that favor the international circulation of knowledge produced from Latin America.
The call for papers is open to professors, researchers, fellows, graduate and undergraduate students, research teams, and professionals interested in discussing key contemporary issues in communication, culture, and technology. There will be panels, discussions, and book presentations, details of which will be published in the Second Circular.
