The activity draws reflections on respect for the condition of black women in Brazil from das
questões “What are we?” and "What moves us?", articulating statistical data, references to black feminism and reflections on race, gender and class to understand the challenges and confrontation strategies built by these women. We propose three central concepts for the construction of emancipatory processes for black women: empowerment, self-care and safe spaces. EITHER
Empowerment, based on Joyce Berth's considerations, is understood as a collective process of redistribution of power, strengthening of autonomy and sharing of opportunities
among black women, overcoming individualistic perspectives. Self-care is presented, inspired by Audre Lorde, as a political practice of self-preservation and resistance in the face of multiples.
