Dialogues between Latin America and Europe: Italy, Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina. Political Context and Popular Public Education

may 23 11:00 am 1:30 PM CMT

Latin American Dialogues is a space organized by the Network of Researchers and Social Organizations of Latin America (RIOSAL-CLACSO). It emerged in the context of the pandemic, driven by the urgent need to come together (primarily) and reflect collectively and regionally on what was happening in our territories in general, and in experiences related to popular education in particular. With the rise of the far right and neo-fascism in the region, we determined that it was necessary to reclaim this space and resume the dialogue so that, through diverse voices, perspectives, and narratives, we could recover, make visible, and reframe the diverse resistances, struggles, and memories woven into the thinking, doing, and feeling of Our America. On this occasion, we are opening ourselves to a new exchange with educators from popular schools in Rome, Italy, following the conviction that we who are grouped in RIOSAL have, to generate and sustain spaces of encounter and articulation that prefigure more just and equal worlds for all.
