The recent bombing and direct intervention in Venezuela mark a turning point in US policy toward the region. Are we witnessing the end of the liberal democratic agenda and the beginning of a new, open imperial phase? We have convened a panel of leading European intellectuals to analyze, from a global perspective, how this new strategy impacts Latin America, the Caribbean, and the world at large. The event will feature a presentation by Pablo Vommaro, Executive Director of CLACSO, and will be moderated and discussed by Esteban Torres (National University of Córdoba – CONICET, Argentina).
