Call for articles for the newsletter Communication, Hate and Intersectionality

October 31 All day

October 31 | Open Call

El CLACSO Working Group "Sexual Activisms and Citizenships: Interdisciplinary Dialogues" Calls for the submission of articles to be included in the newsletter "Communication, hate, and intersectionality", a publication dedicated to analyzing hate speech directed against sexual and gender dissidence in Latin America and the Caribbean, its relationship with communication and its intersectional dimension.

The call for submissions stems from the recognition that hate speech has gained increasing prominence in the region's public sphere, becoming intertwined with technological, cultural, and political processes that seek to challenge understandings of human rights and legitimize neoconservative projects. In this context, the newsletter proposes a space for critical reflection on the production, circulation, and transformation of these discourses, as well as their effects on LGBTIQA+ people and their rights agendas.

You are invited to submit theoretical and methodological reflections and case studies that address, among other topics, the circulation of hate speech on socio-digital platforms, necrosocialities, audiovisual narratives, digital communication, intersectionality, and the impacts of these forms of violence on sexual and gender dissidence in Latin America and the Caribbean.

📅 Deadline for submitting items: 31th October 2026.

The texts must be original and unpublished, to be written in Spanish or Portuguese and have an extension of 2.500 to 3.000 wordsincluding tables, graphs, notes, and bibliography. Only works from individual authorship.
