The Second Regional Meeting of the Diamond Open Access Policy Forum – Latin America and the Caribbean will be held on September 25, 2026 , an exchange space that will bring together specialists and leaders from the region to address public policies and strategic advances related to Diamond Open Access.

This online forum provides a space to share, discuss, and develop recommendations for public policies and funding mechanisms that can be effective in diverse contexts, with the aim of contributing to a more equitable, diverse, and community-led academic publishing sector internationally. The forum brings together decision-makers from national, regional, and institutional levels in Europe, Africa, and Latin America.

This second regional meeting will examine the role of governments, institutions, funding agencies, and infrastructure in developing sustainability policies and strategies that facilitate non-commercial scientific publishing in Latin America.

The meeting will feature the participation of Pablo Vommaro, Executive Director of CLACSO , along with specialists and representatives of institutions from Latin America and the Caribbean.

The meeting will last two hours and will be held virtually. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in Spanish and English.
