Call for entries for the Federico García Lorca Ibero-American Prize against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia

La Intendance of Montevideo, with the support of the Embassy of Spain in Uruguay, invites you to participate in a new edition of Federico García Lorca Ibero-American Prize against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, an initiative that seeks to promote, through art, diversity, inclusion and respect for the rights of LGBTIQ+ people.
The call for entries is aimed at artists from the Ibero-American region and includes three categories: photography, painting and poetryThe works must contribute to making visible the realities and experiences of LGBTIQ+ people, promoting new narratives that challenge prejudices and stigmas, and promote fairer, more diverse and inclusive societies.
The competition aims to offer a platform for artists and groups to present creative proposals that promote dialogue, reflection and awareness regarding the fight against homophobia, transphobia and biphobia, within the framework of the commemoration of May 17thInternational Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.
The selected works will receive the Federico García Lorca Ibero-American Prize against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia in their corresponding category. In addition, the winners of first prize In each category, they will receive a financial award of U $ S 1.500.
