The Metropolitan Autonomous University, Cuajimalpa Unit , through the Department of Institutional Studies (DESIN) , the CLACSO Working Group “Migrations and South-South Borders” , the Research Group of the Seminar on Multidisciplinary Studies on International Migration (GISEMMI) , the Seminar on Institutional Analysis (SAIN) , the Laboratory of Institutional and Organizational Analysis (LAIO) and the Journal Diarios del Terruño. Reflections on Migration and Mobility, invite you to the Colloquium “Public policies for migration: institutional capacity and organizational learning”.
The meeting aims to bring together researchers specializing in public policies and governance of migration and borders, to exchange experiences and research results on the implementation of state policies, programs and actions aimed at migrant, asylum seeker, displaced, deported and/or returned populations.
The Colloquium also proposes to reflect on the challenges posed by human mobility in contexts of increasing turbulence, as well as on the need to move towards structural, sustainable and human rights-respecting public policies, in the face of fragmented, coercive and punitive responses that deepen situations of vulnerability.
The main thematic areas include:
- Multilevel governance, management and governance.
- Design and implementation of public policies, programs and actions.
- Human rights and social protection.
- Institutional capacity of national and subnational governments.
The program will feature two keynote lectures :
- 19 October: Dr. Eduardo Domenech (IDACOR-CONICET, Argentina).
- 20 October: Dr. Karla Valenzuela (DEI-IBERO, Mexico).
The activity is aimed at members of the CLACSO Working Group “Migrations and South-South Borders” , as well as researchers specializing in migration, public policies, governance, management and institutions.
