The CLACSO Working Group on Imperialism, Neocolonialism, and Intervention Policies presents this webinar to reflect on artificial intelligence (AI) as one of the most important fields of geopolitical dispute in the 21st century. Using concepts such as technological dependence and cognitive appropriation, we will analyze how AI systems controlled by large corporations reconfigure accumulation dynamics and power relations, deepen the asymmetries between the Global North and South, and transform the processes of knowledge production, circulation, and control. The event aims to provide critical tools for understanding these challenges from a Latin American perspective.
