The Pontifical Bolivarian University, in conjunction with the Special District of Science, Technology and Innovation of Medellín, will host the 59th International Congress of Americanists, which will take place from 5 to the 9 of July of 2027 in Medellin.
under the motto “Tradition and innovation: Memories of the Americas”The congress will bring together researchers, teachers and specialists from multiple disciplines to discuss the social, cultural, political and historical transformations of the American continent.
The International Congress of Americanists is the world's oldest multidisciplinary gathering dedicated to the study of the Americas. Since its first edition in 1875 in Nancy, France, it has established itself as a leading international forum for academic exchange and the production of critical knowledge in the social sciences, humanities, and related fields.
Each edition involves thousands of people from more than 70 countries, promoting interdisciplinary dialogue and the articulation of global academic networks.
