Platform for Social Dialogue: Inequalities and Poverty in Latin America and the Caribbean

From July 17 to 21, 2023, the 5th Latin American and Caribbean Biennial on Early Childhood, Childhood, and Youth will be held in Manizales, Colombia. This event aims to positively impact the improvement and understanding of the realities experienced by children and young people in Latin America and the Caribbean through comparative context analysis, the development of research processes, the participatory construction of initiatives and alternatives, direct dialogue with public policymakers and government actors in different parts of the region, and the ways in which states and social organizations collaborate, among other practices. The Biennial is therefore the largest forum in Latin America for collaboration between academia, public policy, and social organizations focused on early childhood, childhood, and youth.
The V Biennial is part of the Platform for Social Dialogue on Inequalities and Poverty in Latin America and the Caribbean , which CLACSO is promoting for the coming years.

Debates and perspectives on violence in Latin America and the Caribbean
17 & 18 of July
This is an intensive, in-person, postgraduate-level training program with a comparative and regional perspective, designed to enable students to understand current forms of violence in Latin America and the Caribbean. It is hoped that this training program will contribute to fostering collaboration between academia, public policy experts, and social movements and activist groups to eradicate the various forms of violence in our region.

This school is organized by the Postgraduate Network of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), the Ibero-American Network of Postgraduate Studies in Childhood and Youth – RedINJU, within the framework of its 12 years, the Center for Advanced Studies in Childhood and Youth (CEANJ), the University of Manizales and the CLACSO Working Group on Childhood and Youth, and will have the participation of advanced master's and doctoral students, public policy officials and representatives of social organizations from Latin America and the Caribbean.
