The transition to sustainable, low-emission economies is forcing polluting industries to transform. But the way in which this change takes place is just as important as its speed, as otherwise there is a risk of increasing inequalities in Latin America and the Caribbean. This volume, part of the collaborative work between OXFAM and CLACSO, reflects on the importance of framing debates around just transitions. It represents both a conclusion and a proposal for the joint implementation of a project focused on just transitions from a Latin American perspective: intersectional, intercultural, and intergenerational, which can help us continue to envision a future of environmental justice, sustainable economies, and labor equity for the people of our region.

From September 29 to October 1, at the University of Rosario, in Bogotá, Colombia, OXFAM Latin America, the Latin American Council of Social Sciences and the School of Human Sciences of the University of Rosario of Colombia, organized the event: “In-person sessions: Just Transitions in Latin America".

See column of Karina Batthyány"The challenge remains the notion of just transitions from an environmental, economic, and social perspective.".
