Social Transformation: Agendas and Challenges for Latin America and the Caribbean
The Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) and the Division of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences of the University of the North (DHCS / UNINORTE) of Colombia are co-organizing the UNINORTE-CLACSO Summer School “Social Transformation: Agendas and Challenges for Latin America and the Caribbean” from July 14 to 16 in Barranquilla, focused on social transformation agendas, territories and violence in Latin America and the Caribbean.
On Tuesday, July 14, Pablo Vommaro , Executive Director of CLACSO, participated in the inaugural conference: “ The challenges of the social sciences, humanities and arts in times of transitions and polycrisis: knowledge, democracy and horizons of transformation .”
In turn, on Wednesday the 15th at 8:00, Denise Zenklusen from CONICET of Argentina and from the CLACSO Working Group “Migrations and South-South Borders” will participate in the Seminar-Workshop “Migrations: Processes of social and spatial integration”, while on the same day, at 14:00, Andrea Forero Hurtado from the CLACSO Working Group “Art and Politics” will participate in the Seminar-Workshop “Research-creation for social change”.
First day of the Summer School
Aimed at researchers, teachers, postgraduate students, activists and professionals with links to social or public policy organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Summer School received 271 applications which were evaluated by members of the academic committee and the organizing committee who selected a total of 35 participants from different countries of Our America.
