The material presented here contains a wealth of information that makes it indispensable. On the one hand, it is a reaffirmation and endorsement of the hard-fought yet fruitful collaboration between our Union, our Institute of Studies IDEPSALUD, and CLACSO. We have decided to combine logistics, processes, people, and perspectives between the most representative organization of workers in the health sector in Argentina (the State Workers' Association) and perhaps the most evocative entity of critical thought in Latin America and the Caribbean (CLACSO).
The Higher Diploma that we have developed and which is already in its 4th edition (formerly a Course, now a Higher Diploma), is a fabulous process of specialized training in Management and Public Policies in the field of International Health within a conceptual and methodological framework of South-South geopolitics, decoloniality, feminism and health sovereignty.
A pool of teachers and tutors have enhanced and built a dialogical and participatory environment with the students.
Here we compile a good part of the production of the Mandatory and accrediting Final Projects of the 2020/21 cohort, a true sample of that process, and a justified recognition to our students from Argentina.
The old and new debates unfolding in Argentina regarding the reconstruction of the healthcare system after the neoliberal reforms of the 90s, and also after the pandemic, need more and better voices. It is essential to democratize and deconstruct the landscape of opinions and visions concerning this future, and no theoretical work can be realized without a conscious and active convergence that results in a new political subject representing the national and popular healthcare sector.
