This workshop seeks to explain the mechanisms by which "terruqueo" operates, a political strategy that aims to demobilize projects and actions of social transformation, which has intensified in the context of a world order in crisis.
The workshop on "Terruqueo" ( a term referring to the use of derogatory tactics) will analyze how the perpetuation of the stigma against former members of subversive groups has been employed for decades—with great versatility—to criminalize certain political projects that challenge the established system. Through a review of Peruvian history, it will examine how the " terruqueo" strategy has been effectively imposed from the legal, academic, and media spheres.
