Since 2003, the CLACSO Conferences have been characterized as academic-political gatherings that bring together researchers, students, teachers and members of civil organizations, collectives and social movements.
Men, women, and diverse individuals from various fields within the social sciences and humanities are heeding the call to collectively reflect on the political and social realities of Latin America and the region. Their aim is to exchange perspectives, promote critical thinking, and envision horizons of possibility beyond the deadly alliances between the state and capital. We must acknowledge that these gatherings constitute spaces for dialogue, often from opposing viewpoints, as they bring together diverse perspectives: some aligned with progressive governments, others critical of them, and still others from social movements defending territories and building autonomy.
In this publication we seek to recover, systematize, rethink and share the experience of Forum 29 “Territories, struggles and r-existences: Community horizons in the face of the reproduction of inequalities of capitalism in Latin America and the Caribbean” within the framework of the 9th Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences held in June 2022.
