Social theory and Latin American reality

El CLACSO Working Group on Social Theory and Latin American Reality Since 2016, it has been consolidating itself as an ambitious space for multinational encounter and experimentation whose general objective is to contribute to the autonomous theoretical reconstruction of Latin American sociology and social sciences.
To this end, we adopt as a common starting point a series of premises, among which we would like to highlight:
a) the hierarchization of the global,
b) the recognition and revision of the framework objects of modern social theory,
c) the recovery and renewal of the question of social change - and in particular structural change -;
d) the question regarding the Latin American specificity of world society and
e) the problematization of disciplinary demarcation logics.
