Virtual workshop “Visualizing the future of research systems in Latin America and the Caribbean”

FOLEC-CLACSO recommends participating in the virtual workshop “Visualizing the Future of Research Systems in Latin America and the Caribbean ,” which will take place on October 16, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. (GMT -3) , as part of Evidence Week 2025. The activity is organized by CIPPEC, Purpose & Ideas, FOLEC-CLACSO, and Hub LAC , as part of the project Transforming Research Systems in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The workshop aims to co-create a vision and strategic options for transforming research systems in the region , using future projection and design methodologies in a highly participatory and creative format. Through the Three Horizons methodology , participants will analyze current trends influencing the functioning of science and research, envision desired futures, and outline possible paths to achieve them.

The project seeks to strengthen the capacity of research institutions, social organizations, government agencies and other actors in the scientific ecosystem to anticipate future scenarios, promote creativity and leverage collective intelligence.

We invite the entire scientific, academic and public policy community to join this space for reflection and co-design on the future of research in the region.
