We are all Marielle Franco

Two years after his murder
Woman, black, bisexual, defender of minorities, born in a favela and activist of two human rights, the memory of Brazilian teacher Marielle Franco is more alive than ever two years after her assassination, a crime still without answers and for which we continue to ask for justice.
Marielle Franco, a member of the Partido Socialismo e Liberdade, was shot on March 14, 2018, along with her motorcyclist, Anderson Gomes, after participating in a black women's event in downtown Rio de Janeiro.
Two years after her physical departure, Marielle Franco continues to be present in all the demonstrations, classrooms and conferences, in the fights between black people, women and the LGBT community that she also leads.
On March 14, 2020, several civil society sectors in Brazil will call for demonstrations to celebrate the two years of crime and demand Justice for Franco and Gomes.
At CLACSO, we celebrate and vindicate all the anonymous Marielles in the world who were murdered by the weapon of racial and political discrimination.
We are all Marielle Franco.
