Solidarity with the brotherly people of Peru

The Cuban centers that are members of CLACSO deplore the political maneuvers of the Peruvian right wing against the constitutional president, Pedro Castillo. We express our concern for the difficult times the Peruvian people are going through and we support their demands: lifting of the state of emergency, early elections as soon as possible, respect for the human rights of detainees, accountability for the acts of violence that have been occurring, especially for the deaths resulting from the actions of the security forces, and the right of citizens to express themselves through a referendum on a constituent process that satisfies the demands for change of Peruvians.
