International Open Access Week
From October 19 to 25, the International Open Access Week 2020, entitled "Open with Purpose: Taking action to build structural equity and inclusion," took place, with the active participation of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences, for whom, through its history and actions, open access to knowledge is one of its fundamental pillars.
In that context, Dominique Babini, Special Advisor at CLACSO for Open Access Mobilization, represented the Council and spoke with CLACSO.tv

Dominique Babini participated in three events that could be followed via the Web:
WEDNESDAY 21/10: "Equity and inclusion: community-owned infrastructures for open science. Organized by: Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR), European Open Access Infrastructure (OpenAIRE) and Electronic Information for Libraries (EIFL)
FRIDAY 23/10: "Open with Purpose in Latin America: A Reflection on How to Build Structural Equity and Inclusion". Organized by: UNESCO, UAEM, Redalyc, CLACSO, AmeliCA, DORA
SATURDAY 24/10: «Equity and inclusion in global open access scholarly communications needs more South-South dialogue and cooperation – Perspective from Latin America experience“. Organized by: Center for Policy Research-Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India.
In addition, together with AmeliCA, UNESCO and Redalyc, CLACSO is calling for participation in the 2020 Latin American Essay Contest on Open Access about the new changes in the processes of publication and democratization of knowledge, aimed at young researchers, undergraduate or postgraduate students.
