“Russia and Ibero-America in the globalizing world: history and perspectives”
October 1-3 at St. Petersburg State University.
The Fourth International Forum “Russia and Ibero-America in the globalizing world: history and contemporaneity” continues the traditions of the meetings of 2003, 2013, 2015 and 2017 dedicated to Latin American issues, convened by the St. Petersburg State University, the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ACR), the Bering-Bellingshausen Institute for the Americas, sponsored by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Government of St. Petersburg, with the participation of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences, among other entities.
The Forum's agenda covers a wide range of topics, including the history of relations, the economic and political development of Ibero-American countries and Russia, and the dialogue between cultures and civilizations. One of the central themes of the discussions will be the analysis of the impact and potential of cooperation between Russia and Latin American countries during times of global economic crisis. The Forum will also commemorate Ibero-American Day and address the bicentennial of the discovery of Antarctica.
Participants :
The International Forum, at the Faculty of International Relations of St. Petersburg State University, will be attended by politicians and academics from several Ibero-American countries, representatives of both Houses of the Russian parliament, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the European Council for Social Research on Latin America (CEISAL), the European Network of Information and Documentation on Latin America (REDIAL), the Government of St. Petersburg and the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
CLACSO will be represented by various Working Groups, members of network member centers, the Director of Research, Pablo Vommaro, and the Executive Secretary, Karina Batthyány.
