Outright rejection of neoliberalism in Colombia

On Thursday, November 21, Colombia experienced a national strike, accompanied by massive marches and pot-banging protests in several cities, in rejection of President Iván Duque's economic adjustment policies.

Students, workers, neighbors, farmers, retirees, artists, trade union and social organizations, thousands and thousands of Colombians showed their decision for a different country, being harshly repressed by the police forces.

Carolina Jimenez, CLACSO representative in Colombia, gave an assessment of the events of November 21st for CLACSO Radio, anticipating that the protest movement is here to stay.
