The magazine “Pedagogical Utopia” represents a means of information from a perspective of
Critical and consistent pedagogy with the guidelines of the Colombian Federation of Educators and the Trade Union Association of Instructors of Norte de Santander, regarding public education policies and promotes the publication of pedagogical and cultural topics.
In the context of Freire's centenary, his ideas challenge us to build ourselves as critical and creative people, to develop the potential of our human, intellectual, emotional and practical capacities, in order to contribute to the realization of the social and cultural transformations required in our school institutions.
The pandemic has placed us, in Freire's terms, in limit situations—situations in which conditions of oppression, inequality, and injustice may appear immutable, beyond change. From Freire's perspective, these limit situations represent a field of possibilities, which, through processes of problematization, critical denunciation, and creative proposals, can be transformed.
to be overcome.
In Freire, Utopia is not an unattainable ideal, but rather possible dreams achievable in the everyday aspects of our work and in the search for coherence between what we would like to achieve and what we do today, here and now. It is always an active hope.
The centenary of Paulo Freire (1921-2021), his legacy mobilizes and inspires us to face with commitment and hope, all the current difficulties and uncertainties.
