A State of the Debate
The Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) announces the results of the third edition of the call for applications Latin American Perspectives: A State of the Debate, an editorial project that seeks to highlight the theoretical and methodological contributions made by academics from Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as to collect the current state of the debate in multiple fields of the social sciences and humanities.
Latin American Perspectives: A State of the Debate Its purpose is to bring together works that present the latest developments in relation to the themes, approaches, theoretical perspectives, questions and objects of research in the fields of social sciences and humanities, from a perspective that seeks to highlight the originality and relevance of the knowledge produced in the region.
In this third edition, the proposed themes were:
- Wars, armed conflicts and alternatives for peace in a multipolar world.
- Higher Education, Public Policies and Pedagogical Alternatives.
- Tensions and challenges of collective action and social movements.
- Extractivism and energy transitions in the Global South.
Following the evaluation by the editorial committee, four proposals were selected, corresponding to three of the thematic areas. The area "Higher education, public policies and pedagogical alternatives" remained vacant.
