Call for essays: Emerging Agendas
The Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) announces the results of the Emerging Agendas call for essays , a proposal aimed at researchers to present essays on their main lines of work that involve new approaches to classic problems or the study of emerging objects in social research, with a Latin American focus and intergenerational perspective.
This initiative aimed to develop a collection of books that seeks to highlight the work of researchers from Latin America and the Caribbean, to create a space for visibility and open access dissemination of the results of their work, reflections and research.
In this first edition, the following thematic areas were proposed:
– Popular and alternative economies
– New right-wing movements and threats to the democratic system
– Ecofeminism, rural care and community care
Thirty-six applications were received , of which, after technical and formal review, 13 were in a position to be qualitatively evaluated by an International Editorial Committee to consider the quality, relevance and coherence of the proposals according to the call.
Following the evaluation, three proposals were selected , categorized into two of the priority areas of the call for proposals. The area of “Ecofeminism, rural care, and community care” was declared void. The list of selected proposals from the call for proposals is as follows:
