We repudiate the murders committed in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil and demand justice
O CLACSO Working Group on Latin American Critical Geographical Thought, we join the wife and 6-year-old son of Vitor Fernandes Kaiowá, as well as the family members of Márcio Moreira and all of us who feel that their murders were shot, in the fight against the retaken Guapo'y Mirin Tujury, in Amambai (MS). We join forces to denounce the violence and repression of the State and its private partners, which marginalizes, devastates and destroys lives, bodies and territories of Kaiowá and Guarani.
We urgently demand justice for Vitor Fernandes Kaiowá, Márcio Moreira, Alex Kaiowá (killed by a farmer who shot him), Alex Vasques Ricarte Lopes (assassinated by farmers while searching for something in the vicinity of the reserve), and justice for all those who have fallen victim to their native territory
Kaiowá and Guarani. We demand justice for the wounded who bear scars from war in their bodies-territories, who suffer daily drastic psychological pressure. We demand protection for the community of Retomada Guapo'y Mirin Tujury, and we demand compliance with the anthropological survey of the territory, which is part of the Amambai Indigenous Reserve, where the Kaiowá and Guarani population is the second largest in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
The Terra Indígena de Amambai is one of the most ancient gasses from Mato Grosso do Sul, created in 1915 by former Indian Protection Services. In 1991, the lands were approved as indigenous by the National Indian Foundation. Furthermore, it is illegally in the possession of the territory "Fazenda Borda", with 269 hectares, whose owner is the farmer Waldir Cândido Torelli, responsible for the company VT Brasil Administração e Participação, which possui açougues in São Paulo and various fazendas in Mato Grosso do Sul.
The community of Retomada Guapo'y Mirin Tujury is being accused of being drug traffickers, terrorists and strangers, and of being made up of bandits and invaders. We request that you stop the slander and this hateful and racist speech, which aims to criminalize the retake of indigenous territory.
At this moment, no one is responsible for the massacre of Guapo'y imprisoned Mirin Tujuryfoi. The threats of execution and persecution continue daily, resulting in injustice and impunity against the Kaiowá and Guarani indigenous communities. Therefore, we continue in mourning and in mourning, and we request the imprisonment of João Gauto, the capitão of the Amambai Indigenous Reserve, and the two involved in Funai, therefore, the audios revealed in the press, see the public at the negotiation of both for this massacre. That it seemed genocidal practices and that the State returned the Kaiowá and Guarani to their sacred lands.
We demand justice.
