The book's aim, in addition to recovering the central elements of Freire's work as a tribute to the centenary of his birth, is to foster an engagement with Freirean thought among new generations. Therefore, it seeks to reinvent his approach, acknowledging that we stand on the shoulders of giants and that this allows us to humbly contribute, and also recognizing that every theory is related to its time. In this sense, it is essential to update our perspective on the current political, social, and pedagogical conditions, complementing it with new contributions, as Freire himself suggested on more than one occasion. In this way, the book offers us a journey through the author's fascinating work and its context, and an intellectual effort to connect it dialogically with other authors, situated practices, and contemporary experiences.
