Rejection of the dismantling and closure of the National Institute against Discrimination, Xenophobia and Racism (INADI) of Argentina
The Association of Afro-Latin American and Caribbean Researchers (AINALC), the Association of Black Researchers of Brazil (ABPN), the CLACSO Working Group on Afro-descendants and counter-hegemonic proposals and the International Network of Afrofeminist Voices (RIVAS), express their strongest rejection of the dismantling and closure of the National Institute against Discrimination, Xenophobia and Racism (INADI) of Argentina, announced today by the presidential spokesman.
We consider this measure to be of unusual gravity, as it affects the defense against discrimination, xenophobia and racism in society, leaving the communities most affected by these scourges unprotected.
We urge the Argentine government to reverse this regrettable decision, while also calling on Afro-diasporic associations, organizations, networks, and Latin American societies in general to raise their voices against such a regressive measure as the one announced.
