What job for what future?

What job for what future? This is the question that gives rise to this CLACSO Working Group made up of people from academia, unions, social and popular movements, and which will carry out its activities throughout the period 2023-2025.
We know that work, as a social phenomenon and its legal regulation, is undergoing rapid change, posing new challenges from the perspective of achieving a good life for the majority of society. Processes such as the relocation of production, the increasing concentration of capital, informality, the issue of care work and gender inequalities, the decline of wages and precarious employment, digitalization, and the ecological crisis demand that we rethink work and labor laws from a critical, feminist, ecological, multidisciplinary, and transnational perspective.
To this end, this large group of experts has been formed to analyze and discuss the present and future of work, collectively and in context, with the aim of providing alternatives that, transcending the academic world, serve as contributions and inputs for the responses that, from institutions, social movements and unions, are promoted as a way to achieve decent work in the world.
