Following the resignation of Prime Minister Ariel Henry and the increasing control of much of the capital, Port-au-Prince, by armed gangs, Haiti is sinking deeper into a humanitarian and violence crisis that has been escalating since the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse in July 2021. In this context, the designated Transitional Council is tasked with choosing an interim prime minister and creating the conditions for holding free elections.
