and Epistemologies of Knowledge in Latin America and the Caribbean
The Research Group aims to develop studies and investigations related to the theoretical and epistemic foundations of Social Thought in Latin America and the Caribbean, as a deepening of the theoretical contributions of thinkers of the region, as well as of social theory constructed from other epistemologies of knowledge, for example of indigenous, rural and rural epistemes. Afro-descendants. Likewise, it aims to develop research related to the educational-political practices of social movements and alternative pedagogies in the construction of knowledge from/com/for the movements themselves. Our intuition consists in consolidating the theoretical-epistêmic systematization resulting from a social theory that is built in the interfaces of a Dialogue of Knowledge between the different subjects and the different roots that give theoretical-epistêmic and methodological support to a Latin-American and Caribbean Social Thought. We carry out research in International Cooperation with the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), with the Program for Pedagogical Alternatives and Educational Prospective in Latin America (APPeAL) and with the Transnational Other Knowledge Network (RETOS).
