Research and Training Program in Andean Agroecological Systems
The Agroecology Research and Training Program, driven by the alliance between McKnight and CLACSO, has successfully implemented a regional project that intersected research with agroecological training and the participation of local peasant and indigenous communities in the high mountain regions of Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia (more than 2.500 meters above sea level).
One of the achievements of this project was the intellectual and creative output of Roxana Villegas (Bolivia), a researcher and participant in the CLACSO-McKnight Program, who carried out the research. "Intergenerational knowledge of water in food production", creating a calendar on the water cycle based on the peasant knowledge of the communities of Laphia and Totora.
The calendar is a tool that brings us closer to understanding the climate, traditional knowledge about the water cycle, and the diverse realities of our countries and territories. It will soon be published in the second book we will be publishing through the Program.
