Program of Cultural Studies – Argentina
Emily Cuda, Director
The general objective of the Program of Cultural Studies at the National University Arturo Jauretche is to contribute to the understanding of the constitution of popular identities, mainly in Latin America.
The Program of Cultural Studies (PEC), within the broader field of culture, focuses on the study of "popular culture," exploring the causes and methods of managing social and political conflict. In this sense, the program studies the language of popular culture—that is, the symbols that constitute its aesthetic expression—to understand its needs and aspirations, thereby gaining insight into the reasons behind the new directions that republican and democratic politics are taking in Argentina, Latin America, and the world.
Research areas: Culture and Politics. Culture and Aesthetics. Culture and Work. Culture, Science and Technology. Culture and Communication
