Concern over decisions by the Argentine Judiciary

The CLACSO Assembly of Centers expresses its concern regarding the recent decisions of the Argentine Judiciary that could result in the imprisonment and electoral disqualification of Cristina Fernández de KirchnerThe former President of the Argentine Nation has been subjected for years to systematic media and judicial harassment that - following all the rules of lawfare, widely applied against popular leaders in various Latin American countries - has not proven any of the accusations, despite having scandalously violated legal procedures and the guarantees of the rule of law.

The arbitrary actions of the Judiciary, which have also blocked the investigation into the attack suffered by Cristina in September 2022, constitute an attack on democracy that seeks to curtail the sovereignty of the popular will.
