The increased tensions between Israel and Palestine during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan have revived the need for a political solution to the historic conflict.

The meeting between King Abdullah II of Jordan and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on March 28 was key to reaffirming alliances in the region and the possible realization of a Palestinian state.

That same day, Israel hosted delegations from Egypt, Morocco, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates. The summit was held within the framework of the so-called "Abraham Accords," aimed at fostering closer ties between these Middle Eastern nations and Tel Aviv after several years of estrangement.
